Prof. Iris Dotan
Rabin Medical Center, IsraelIris Dotan is the Director of the Division of Gastroenterology at the Rabin Medical Center, Israel. Prof. Dotan received her medical degree from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Israel. Her postdoctoral fellowship was at the Immunobiology Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. She is a specialist in internal medicine and in gastroenterology and liver diseases. Her clinical and research interests focus on biomarker-based stratification of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases and a personalized approach to their treatment and care, biologicals and novel therapies for inflammatory bowel disease.

Prof Michael Scharl
University Hospital, Zürich, SwitzerlandProf. Michael Scharl is Head of Research of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University Hospital, Zürich, currently leading the basic research lab and a team of 25 junior and senior researchers. He is also a lecturer in Gastroenterology at the University of Zürich. His research focuses on innate and adaptive immune responses in the pathogenesis of intestinal inflammation and intestinal carcinomas with the aim to achieve a better understanding of the complex interplay between genetic predispositions, intestinal microbiota and aberrant immune responses in the development of the diseases.

Prof. Janneke van der Woude
Erasmus MC Rotterdam, NetherlandsProf. Janneke van der Woude is the Head of the IBD clinic, Erasmus MC Rotterdam. An important part of Prof. Woude’s work is education as she is the trainer of the department. She supervises Fellows and gives lectures to trainees. In addition, Prof. Woude was the director Erasmus MC of the bachelor study Clinical Technology. Prof. Woude is one the founders of the ICC, a foundation where universities and non-academic centres collaborate on IBD research. She also founded the regional IBD Delta research group, where regional IBD – interested members from 16 hospitals work together in research to improve IBD outcome.
